I’m Bryce…

a media anthropologist and historian of social and scientific thought. My research focuses on gender, media technoscience, sound and listening, and the state in the post-World War II British and American Empires. I have a PhD in Media Studies from the University of Oregon, and graduate certificates in Women’s & Gender Studies and New Media & Culture.

In addition to my life as a researcher, I am an active jazz bassist — and sometimes my lecturing opportunities allow me to be both at the same time. I have toured both the United States and Europe, playing with professionals and amateurs alike.
